Antiques Tours
One Week Itinerary

Friday: as most flights from north America to England are overnight, we recommend that north Americans fly at least the day before we start antiquing on Saturday.

You can fly into any one of London's five international airports. Given the choice, Gatwick is our preferred airport. (Our tour will end in the vicinity of Gatwick, making onward journeys from Gatwick very convenient.)

Heathrow is also a popular choice, and consider this most civilised method of arriving in London: fly to Paris for a short break, then take the Eurostar train from central Paris to central London in only three hours!

Wherever you arrive, Kimberly or an assistant will meet you and escort you to your hotel. (We may take a train into central London rather than fight London's traffic, but it is so much nicer to be met by a friendly face after a long journey!)

Saturday: as you may be arriving in the morning on an overnight flight, we will meet in the lobby of your hotel at 12:00pm for a brief introduction and 12:30pm departure for our first antiques district.

Once there, we will find lunch at one of the abundant local restaraunts and cafés. There is a *lot* to see in this compact antiques district, so it is up to you whether to sit down and relax, or have lunch on the run!

Later on in the afternoon, we will view nearby auction rooms where many of the local dealers go to buy. Feel free to leave a bid - if your are successful the shippers can collect directly.

In the evening, you may wish to visit the West End and see a show. If you want to see a particular show, let us know and we will be glad to assist in arranging tickets.

Sunday: Sunday is a day of rest. You may already feel like you need it after the overnight flight and Saturday's slew of antiques!

There will be optional tours to Hampton Court Palace or, for Arts & Crafts lovers, to Red House, designed for Arts & Crafts pioneer William Morris by architect Philip Webb in 1859.

(The Red House tour depends on availability of tickets - if you are interested, please let us know as soon as possible.)

We love London and all it has to offer. Between them, Kimberly and her husband have spent almost 20 years exploring this great city and would be happy to suggest activities for a fun and/or relaxing day out.  Be sure to get some rest, as we will have a full day of antiquing ahead of us on Monday.

Monday: On Monday we will take in two of London's antique districts.

Getting around London is tough, but we do all the hard work for you. (After years of working in the London antiques trade, Kimberly knows all the tricks of how to get from A to B.)

Later in the day you will have the option to join Kimberly viewing two famous London auction rooms.

Like many London based dealers, Kimberly takes advantage of auction rooms' late opening on a Monday.

You are invited to join Kimberly's Monday viewings, otherwise you may wish to take the evening off and relax.

Tuesday: We visit our final London antique district in the morning on Tuesday before setting off to the country in the afternoon.

Our country tour will take us through beautiful Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire before heading south to one of England's finest antiques areas in West Sussex.

We should arrive in our first country town around late afternoon or early evening.

Consider a relaxing evening in town at a local restaurant or an authentic English country pub!

Wednesday: We start the day on Wednesday visiting two (or if we have time three) fabulous dealers, all in towns which are nearby to each other.

Our next and last stop for the day will be at a fabulous antiques centre which houses over 80 dealers in an original Elizabethan coaching inn.

Thursday: We will start the day in the gorgeous Cotswolds town of Stow-in-the-Wold.

If we are not totally way-laid by the delights of Stow, we will move on in the afternoon to nearby towns for more fabulous antique shops before day's end.

Friday: Today we visit another Cotswolds town with an abundance of decorative antiques.

You may also find some wonderful fabrics in this town to compliment any purchases so far.

This is not the most hectic day on our schedule, and there will be time to relax in a charming country café, restaurant or English pub.

Saturday: On Saturday we head to West Sussex for an area which is renowned for its many antique shops.

It is here that we make our last stop for antiques, and we are sure this town will send you off on a high note!

We will overnight near Gatwick airport, for onward connections on Sunday.

(If you are not leaving from Gatwick on Sunday, let us know as early as possible and we will do our best to help you on your onward journey.)

The hard part: The trip costs £1,500 per person including:

• a dedicated guide and driver,

• being met at the airport,

• all travel within the UK,

• superior quality hotels, and

• all breakfasts.

Prices are based on two people sharing (with a single supplement of £400).   Travel to London, meals (other than breakfast), optional excursions and personal expenses are excluded from this price.
